Denver experienced a whole new level of groove Thursday night when Signal Path took the stage at the Bluebird Theater. Cleverly incorporating traditional live band instrumentation into their grimy groovetronica, these guys make it entirely impossible to not indulge in your most funkiest of moves and get down on the dance floor. As usual, UnifiedFunkOption.com was on board for the entire show, and damn, did we have a good time!
This Denver based trio consisting of Ryan Burnett (guitar/production), Damon Metzner (drums), and Matt Schumacher (bass) brings on a funky, bass-heavy style much like that of Pretty Lights or Gramatik while maintaining the captivating energy everybody loves from a live band performance. It was easy to notice the band’s ability to enrapture an audience and lay the funk.
Our favorite moment of Signal Path’s performance – honestly too close to call for this one, but overall the energy brought forth by the group was top notch and Matt Schumacher’s visually expressive nature on bass clearly set the tone for the evening.
Signal Path’s latest release, MixtaEP, is a studio album featuring some badass remixes of artists including Skrillex, A$AP Rocky and The Roots that are certainly nothing to scoff at. You can download MixtaEP along with the rest of their music FOR FREE from the Signal Path website.
