Foamo and RackNRuin are back again as Gorgon City, taking a massive d&b cut from up-and-comers Rudimental and stripping away some of the breathless urgency to create a house-friendly version. Both producers are independently known for their skill in the realm of 2-step/garage, but together (as they’ve proven on UFO before) they are really challenging the true notion of “progressive” house.
Rudimental, a UK performance/production quartet, are definitely a group to watch for in the future — expect their full-length debut album out in late May. Gotta dig this press release statement from them: “We aren’t just electronic bedroom producers, and we’re not just guitarists and pianists who don’t know much about making a beat.” I aspire to do EITHER of those things well.
BONUS — Check out the original version’s video, a heart-warming concept that feeds off of the songs energy in an unexpectedly effective way.
