German downtempo producer KØSTER took us by surprise with his Pink Floyd edit of “Careful With That Axe, Eugene.” The edit, much like KØSTER‘s style, has a laid-back groove on the surface. But that organ line that kicks in after a minute undeniably turns up the heat.
The original track’s spooky vibes are completely replaced by a the vibes of cruising around at twilight with the windows down. We can only imagine how chilling it would be if the “Careful, careful, careful” was added on top of the rolling groove.
The photo above is actually from KØSTER‘s “Fairtrade Lemon Haze” mix, a three-hour journey of a mix that is long and deep enough to be there for you through any self-imposed mental imprisonment.
BONUS — Here’s a video for the original song being performed live. Be sure to watch around the 5:00 mark and see what a crazy motherfucker Roger Waters is.
