MIXTAPE // Phaeleh :: Bad News Mix

If this seems like a good day for deep sounds and dark dubstep, this mix is definitely for you.  Bristol-based Phaeleh (not fay-lah, fella) cooked this up for the Bad News crew to promote a show he’ll be playing alongside some serious heads like Benji B, Coki (of Digital Mystikz), and Pangaea.  That alone makes us want to relocate across the Atlantic, but it’s Phaeleh’s show with Pinch and Dark Sky that really has us feeling jealous (check out our post on Dark Sky).

Phaeleh :: Bad News Mix Feb 2012

The mix takes a few minutes to warm up nicely, breaks into some badman riddims and continues to warm up.  But rather than getting louder, it gets deeper and deeper, until you find yourself unable to figure out exactly how you came in.  The way dubstep should be, no?  We definitely prefer the depth-chargers like the Teknian dub and the Killawatt remix, but honestly we expect we’re going to find a new favorite after every listen.
