SINGLE // Zeds Dead :: Dear God 2.0

Zeds Dead is at it again, putting out this brand new free clip and building hype for their upcoming new EP.  For this remix, they’ve put their trademark sound up to one of the most delicate vocal samples yet, the heart-wrenching, nearly Radiohead-ish chorus of The Roots & Monsters of Folk “Dear God 2.0.”  Not quite sure why The Roots are even credited here since Black Thought’s rhymes didn’t make the cut (that would have been cooler).  Then again, only one-fourth of the Monsters of Folk supergroup made it in the original (Jim James of My Morning Jacket is singing in this track; other members are Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis of Bright Eyes, and M. Ward of She & Him and solo artist).

Kind of a toss-up with this one.  It’d be pretty hard to argue this is better than the original Roots track, but rabid Zeds Dead fans will surely agree this is a satisfying cut from a duo that can do no wrong in the brostep scene.
